Over the past week, we have presented information about the Ash’aree sect, their beliefs, mistakes in ‘Aqeedah (especially in regards to the attributes of Allaah), their arguments/claims and confusion which has misled many from our beloved Muslim ummah. In recent times, they have spent much of their energy on the Muslim youth, distorting their minds and their ‘Aqeedah with many doubts and questions concerning the Attributes of Allaah instead of clining to to the positions of the righteous Salaf, the Imaams of Islaam who have clarified these delicate affairs sticking strictly to the book of Allaah, the Sunnah of the Messenger (sallallaahu ‘alayhi wa sallam) and the ijmaa’ of the sahabah and those who follow them in righteousness. Rather than stick firmly to the understanding of the salaf, they have fallen deeply into trying to interpret away some of the Attributes of Allaah leading them into horrendous mistakes in their ‘Aqeedah, they also deny that Abul-Hasan al-Ash’aree left his earlier beliefs and they prey on the Muslim youth presenting a concoction of mistaken statements from some of the scholars of past, doubt, confusion and rhetoric.During this spotlight we hope to present the ‘Aqeedah of some of the Imaams of the Salaf (in regards to some of Allaah’s Attributes), clarify and refute some of the rhetoric based arugements of the Ash’arees that are often floated about and to make clear the ‘Aqeedah of the Imaams of the Salaf and their ijmaa’ on these issues.
